SVEINUNG “SVEN” ERIKSEN

DIRECTOR of MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES  

As the Director of Mental Health Services, Sveinung “Sven” Eriksen, is responsible for developing policies, procedures, and protocols related to mental health treatment for all of QCHC’s sites; ensuring quality of care and compliance with standards and policies; and designing and implementing training and education on mental health topics for QCHC personnel. Sven will also assist in the process of hiring, training and supervising QCHC’s mental health therapists. Prior to joining QCHC, Sven worked at Silverdale Detention Center in Chattanooga, TN, where he provided therapy services to inmates, trained jail officers on topics such as suicide prevention and substance abuse, and helped develop and cultivate suicide prevention policies and protocols in the facility. Earlier in his career, Sven has experience working in private practice settings as well as in-patient and outpatient facilities in the United States and Norway. Sven is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) in the states of South Carolina and Tennessee. He is a Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Lee University and a Masters in Counseling from Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
